Maçarico was acquired by the Spanish company Ángel Camacho, owner of, among other brands, the Fragata olive brand.
The Portuguese family business, founded in 1930, has two factories, located in Praia de Mira and Cantanhede, and markets its products in more than 50 markets. Its acquisition allows Ángel Camacho to enter new product categories, such as sauces and canned vegetables, among others, which complement its existing offerings.

Portugal is a strategic market for Ángel Camacho, similar to Brazil, where Maçarico also operates. “We are very pleased to have made this strategic move, as it means integrating into our group of business units a company very similar to ours: family-owned, with a rich catalog of food and export products.
