Lidl launches online store in Spain.

Lidl has launched an online store in Spain to sell household goods. The project is in the testing phase and is being developed in Madrid.

Through the new website, users will be able to purchase exclusive fashion, home and leisure products that the brand puts on sale weekly in physical stores and that are part of the variable assortment, such as the Esmara fashion collections, Crivit sportswear, Silvercrest kitchen utensils and small appliances, Parkside and Florabest tools and accessories for DIY or gardening.

This new online channel offers the same variety of products that are distributed in physical stores, and although they can be purchased a few days before they are available in the chain's stores, home delivery will not occur until the product is at the point of sale on the planned date of the promotion.

The selling price, offers and promotions will be the same as in physical stores, although the user must pay a fixed shipping cost of 3,99 euros, regardless of the volume and number of items in the order.

Lidl will manage online orders through an external warehouse located in Seseña (Toledo), from which the entire logistics process will be coordinated. In this regard, Lidl will collaborate with SEUR in logistics and transportation.

Orders placed in the online store will be managed exclusively through the online platform ( lidlonline.es ) and it will not be possible to pick them up or return them at Lidl's physical stores in Spain.

Following this trial period in Madrid, and based on its results, Lidl will decide how and when to continue developing the service for other areas of the country. With the launch of this pilot, Spain becomes the fifth European country in which Lidl launches an e-commerce service for household goods, after Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and the Czech Republic.
