Anta Sports has completed the acquisition of a 29,06% stake in Puma SE from Artémis SAS, the Pinault family's investment company, for €1.505,5 million in cash.
With the completion of the transaction, already approved by the relevant regulatory authorities, the Chinese company becomes the largest shareholder of Puma.
The agreement had been announced in January 2026, at which time Anta revealed its intention to acquire the stake for approximately 1,5 billion euros, financed through its own resources.
Anta reinforces multi-brand strategy.
The operation is part of Anta Sports' strategy based on three pillars: focus on sports, a multi-brand model, and internationalization. The group intends to use its accumulated experience in management, retail, and resource integration to support Puma's growth, particularly in markets such as China.
Anta currently controls a portfolio that includes brands such as Anta, Fila, Descente, Kolon Sport, Jack Wolfskin and Maia Active, and is also the largest shareholder of Amer Sports, a group that owns Arc'teryx, Salomon, Wilson, Peak Performance and Atomic.
Puma maintains autonomy.
Anta states that it intends to respect Puma's identity, heritage, and culture, as well as the independence of its governance and brand autonomy. When announcing the operation, the group indicated that it did not, at that time, have plans to launch a public takeover bid for the entirety of Puma.
Ding Shizhong, chairman of the board of directors of Anta Sports, described the entry into Puma as a milestone in the group's global strategy and stated that he sees potential for further growth in the international sporting goods market.
