Vivo will enter the Portuguese "open market" on May 2nd, bringing with it two new models, the V23 and the Y76, in what is another step in the consolidation strategy of the smartphone brand, the fifth best-selling globally.
Founded in 1995 in Dongguan, China, Vivo entered the smartphone market in 2011. With over 12 employees in seven of its own R&D centers, it claims to have the capacity to produce approximately 200 million devices annually.
In addition to Portugal, Vivo is already present in Germany (where its European headquarters are located in Düsseldorf), Austria, Czech Republic, Spain, France, Italy, Poland, the United Kingdom, Romania, and Serbia. In Europe, Vivo employs approximately 300 people (90 at its European headquarters and over 200 in other markets). Entering new countries will require a quantitative increase in its human resources.
Vivo is also betting on global recognition, with special attention to major sporting events, especially football. In this sense, the brand was an official partner of UEFA Euro 2020 (and will also be for UEFA Euro 2024, as well as the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups). At the club level, it is an official partner of La Liga, the Spanish first division.
V23 5G
Vivo presents its latest smartphone in Portugal, the V23 5G. The new member of the V series stands out thanks to its front camera system and design. Whether alone or in a group, during the day or at night, the V23 5G ensures that selfies always maintain optimal lighting, but when the smartphone is turned around, it's noticeable that the V23 5G changes color, between sunny gold and coastal green when visible under UV light.
“ At vivo, we believe that extraordinary experiences can be lived every day. By combining innovation, cutting-edge features and attractive style, the V23 5G aims to delight, surprise and offer an inspiring way for users to highlight their style ,” says Carlos Mellado, Go-To-Market Director of vivo Iberia.

The V23 5G will be available in Portugal in Sunshine Gold and Stardust Black colors, at a recommended retail price of 529 euros. Technical assistance and customer support services will be provided by Decsis, with offices in Amadora and Porto.
Ultrathin Y76 5G
In addition to the V23, vivo presents a new member of its Y Series smartphone family in Europe, the Y76 5G, the thinnest in the series at just 7,79 millimeters. Despite its elegant appearance, the Y76 5G offers enhanced performance thanks to an advanced 50-megapixel camera and a multi-turbo system that optimizes network usage, artificial intelligence, gaming performance, and heat dissipation. The Y76 offers dual-SIM support, fast 5G connectivity, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
“ At vivo, we are constantly improving our portfolio of great products, based on research and consumer feedback. The AY Series offers a great balance of price and performance, with a strong focus on camera, design and battery, which meets the needs and expectations of our consumers ,” says Carlos Mellado.
The vivo Y76 5G will be available in Portugal at a recommended retail price of 419 euros. As with the V23, technical assistance and customer support services will be provided by Decsis, also with offices in Amadora and Porto.
