Beiersdorf's sales grow 2,5%

Beiersdorf's revenue reached 7.233 billion euros in 2018, 2,5% more than the previous year.

The two divisions of the German group, owner of brands such as Nivea, Eucerin, La Prairie and Tesa, contributed to the results. In the consumer division, sales grew 1,6% to €5.890 billion. In adhesives, turnover increased 6,8% to €1.343 billion, with acquisitions offsetting the negative effects of currency fluctuations.

Beiersdorf estimates that, in terms of profitability on sales, 2018 remained in line with the previous year. “ 2018 was a good economic year for Beiersdorf. We maintained our positive trend and achieved our objectives ,” states Stefan De Loecker, CEO of the company.

The manager adds, however, that strategic steps will be taken in 2019 to ensure sustainable growth, given that sales in the fourth quarter showed signs of slowing down.
