Too Good To Go

Too Good To Go accelerates growth in Portugal.

Too Good To Go has reached a significant milestone: between 2024 and 2025, 3,2 million Surprise Bags were saved, almost as many as in the first five years of operation in Portugal (2019–2023).

In 2025, Too Good To Go saved 1,69 million meals, representing a 7% growth compared to the previous year, and in the last three years, its user base has increased by 20%, reaching 2,7 million people in Portugal, about a quarter of the population. This engagement translates into a concrete impact: the country has already surpassed the historic milestone of seven million meals saved since the app 's launch.

This result corresponds to a reduction of more than 18,5 tons of CO₂e emissions, as well as savings of natural resources equivalent to an area larger than 2.700 football stadiums, highlighting the platform's effective contribution to protecting the planet.

“ The 2025 results confirm that the Portuguese are increasingly involved in the fight against food waste: eight out of ten already recognize the impact of this problem on the planet. This change in mentality is the engine of growth for Too Good To Go and proves that consumers value solutions that combine savings, quality and positive impact. Our mission gains strength precisely in the way it integrates into people's daily lives ,” declares Tiago Figueiredo, interim country director of Too Good To Go in Portugal.

Retail and Horeca drive growth

Too Good To Go ended 2025 with 808 partner stores in the retail sector, a 35% increase compared to 2024, including the effect of the Auchan–Minipreço migration. Among the new partners integrated throughout the year, Cozinha Continente stands out, along with strengthened collaborations with E.Leclerc, Prio, Montecristo, and Auchan.

Currently, Auchan is the retail partner with the greatest cumulative impact in Portugal, having saved around 500 meals, a result of close cooperation throughout the store migration process.

234% increase in meals saved

In the Horeca segment, the platform recorded one of its main growth drivers in 2025. The number of partners increased by 129%, totaling 415 establishments, while the number of saved meals registered an impressive 234% year-on-year growth, reaching 138.502 meals, a key indicator of the app 's accelerated growth and its relevance in this segment.

Among the new partners, Pizza Hut, Telepizza, Domino's, O Nosso Prego, and Loja das Sopas stand out, with particular relevance to the pizza segment. Pizza Hut is currently the Horeca partner with the greatest coverage and impact, with 163 restaurants and 46 meals saved, while Telepizza stands out for its efficiency per store, with more than 40 Surprise Bags saved in just 31 establishments.

Arrival in Japan

Currently present in 20 markets, with 130 million users, 180 partners and more than 500 million Surprise Bags saved, Too Good To Go has established itself as a global leader in the fight against food waste.

Now, the company announces its entry into Japan, a market with ambitious goals for reducing food waste: 50% in households and 60% in businesses by 2030, in accordance with UN Sustainable Development Goal 12.3. With more than 22 million tons of food wasted annually, Too Good To Go aims to transform this ambition into concrete action.

The operation in Japan will be led by Hiroto Ooka, the brand's country manager in the country, bringing strong local leadership aligned with the cultural and structural challenges of the market. Too Good To Go's participation in EXPO 2025 in Osaka, an international stage for innovation and sustainability, reinforces the company's positioning as a global player committed to the transition to more sustainable food systems.
