SoLo Brewing distinguished as the best “Coffee Roaster” in Portugal 2025

SoLo Brewing has just been elected the best Coffee Roaster in Portugal 2025, an award given at the Coffee Market, part of Porto Coffee Week. The prize results from a combination of the evaluation of a professional jury and the public vote, which gave the brand 34% of the preferences – a clear indicator of the roastery's growing impact on the national coffee scene.

In a country where coffee is part of the daily culture, SoLo Brewing has distinguished itself through its creative roasting process, transparency regarding the origin of its beans, and commitment to sustainable practices. According to the organization, these elements reflect the new generation of Portuguese roasters, increasingly focused on quality and environmental responsibility.

Founded in 2021 in Recife, Brazil, SoLo Brewing established itself in Portugal two years later, opening its doors in Saldanha, Lisbon. The space functions as a roastery and shop, but also as a meeting point for a community that values specialty coffee, craftsmanship, and sustainability. The brand explores different roasting profiles and techniques, a work that has earned it the preference of both experts and visitors to the event.

Among the finalists were Al-Gharb Coffee Roasters, Unity Coffee Roasters, and Invictus Coffee – names that confirm the vitality of the sector in Portugal. “ This award shows that excellence in coffee is not a passing fad, but the result of continuous work by those who believe that each bean can tell a story ,” says Sofia Ferraz, head of Porto Coffee Week. She also highlights the strong public participation and a “ fierce ” competition, given the high quality of the entries submitted.

In addition to roasting and selling coffee beans to Portugal and Spain, SoLo Brewing also sells accessories for preparing and consuming coffee, available in their physical store and online at solobrewing.pt.

The award was given by Porto Coffee Week, organized by Tasteology. After its success in Porto, the initiative is now preparing the Lisbon edition, scheduled for 2026.
