The English sparkling wine Domaine Evremond arrives on the Portuguese market through Sogrape Distribuição. A historic moment in the world of wine, it is the first time that a prestigious Champagne house has invested in the production of sparkling wines on British soil.
Located in Chilham, in the heart of Kent, Domaine Evremond is the result of a shared vision between Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger and Patrick McGrath MW. Together they identified the ideal conditions for producing exceptional wines in the terroir of southern England — morphologically identical to that of Champagne.
Gonçalo Sousa Machado, CEO of Sogrape Distribuição, states: “ The integration of Domaine Evremond into our portfolio reinforces Sogrape Distribuição's ambition to lead the premium segment with differentiating projects. This launch, developed with Taittinger — our partner since 1992 — reflects our ability to anticipate trends and offer the market high-prestige references. ”
Domaine Evremond
Domaine Evremond Classic Cuvée – First Edition, the result of the expertise of Alexandre Ponnavoy, cellar master at Taittinger, has now arrived in Portugal with a blend of 55% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay, and 10% Pinot Meunier. The wine undergoes complete malolactic fermentation. Furthermore, it rests for more than three years on its lees before disgorgement.
In line with a contemporary vision, the project makes a strong commitment to sustainability. It holds SWGB (Sustainable Wines of Great Britain) certification and features a state-of-the-art winery built mostly underground. This protects the wine and preserves the local landscape.
Domaine Evremond will soon be available in leading restaurants, specialty wine shops and select points of sale, with exclusive distribution by Sogrape Distribuição.
