The Navigator Company is the new supplier of molded fiber disposable plates and bowls for Kasa, the exclusive home decor and furnishings brand of Continente.

In a statement, the company emphasizes that this collaboration " guarantees the national origin of these single-use products ." The products are manufactured using 100% virgin forest fiber, free of contaminants. They comply with the European standard BfR XXXVI, a reference for materials in contact with food. The raw material comes from responsibly managed and certified forests. In this sense, it reflects " an integrated approach that combines sustainable forest management, industrial innovation and environmental responsibility throughout the entire value chain ".

Beyond environmental and safety credentials, Kasa products stand out for their functional design . They can be used in different consumption contexts, from daily use to social gatherings and celebrations.

The plates, which are rigid and resistant to oil and grease, are available in 22 centimeters (meal) and 17 centimeters (dessert). Meanwhile, the bowls have a capacity of 450 milliliters, suitable for soups and salads.

Sustainable solutions

For Navigator, this collaboration is part of "its strategy to diversify its portfolio of sustainable packaging solutions." Thus, the move embodies the company's commitment to accelerating the transition from plastic to natural, sustainable, recyclable, and biodegradable fibers.

This vision aligns with the "From Fossil to Forest" concept. This concept reflects Navigator's contribution to replacing fossil-based materials with forest-based solutions.

The forests managed by The Navigator Company in Portugal have a carbon stock , excluding soil carbon, equivalent to 6,4 million tons of CO₂.
