L'Oréal Paris

L'Oréal reinforces its sustainable development.

L'Oréal made significant progress in its 2018 Sharing Beauty with All sustainability program report, particularly in its commitments to combat climate change.

In 2018, L'Oréal managed to reduce carbon emissions from its factories and distribution centers by 77%, in absolute terms, compared to 2005, despite a 38% increase in production volume during the same period.

This performance demonstrates the group's ability to achieve economic growth while reducing its environmental impact. In addition to this result, by the end of the year, 38 of L'Oréal's production sites had achieved carbon neutrality.

Once again, these results were recognized by the CDP. For the third consecutive year, L'Oréal was one of only two companies in the world, among more than three thousand evaluated, to receive three “As” (the highest score) in the CDP ratings in three major areas: combating climate change, managing water scarcity, and reducing deforestation. L'Oréal is the only company in the world to receive this triple distinction from the CDP for three consecutive years. “ Climate change is a major concern for the world and its consequences demand an urgent response. The L'Oréal Group wants to play a leading role in driving efforts to meet this challenge ,” says Alexandra Palt, L'Oréal's Chief Corporate Responsibility Officer. “ Companies need to get involved and we should be evaluated on the merit of our actions and results .”
