Epson launches two new A3 inkjet printers for businesses, reinforcing its range and further confirming its commitment to heatless inkjet technology.

The decision to end global sales of laser printers by 2026 was made two years ago as part of Epson's broader commitment to sustainability.

Currently, Epson Europe is at the forefront of the commitment and confirms that it has ended the sale of laser printers in the region. The decision to focus exclusively on its patented heatless inkjet technology was made due to this technology's greater potential for making significant advances in sustainability. This is due to the different ways the printing technologies work: while laser printers require heat to fuse the toner onto a page, heatless inkjet is a cool technology that requires less energy to operate.

Epson has been working to fill the gaps left by laser products in its offering for business environments. This effort has resulted in a complete range of heatless inkjet printers and devices to meet all needs: from small offices and low print volumes to large enterprises and ultra-high print volume requirements.

New WorkForce printers

The latest printers to join the range are the A3 WorkForce Pro EP-C7000DW and WorkForce Pro EM-C7100DWF models. These 25 ppm printers offer a cost-effective and energy-efficient alternative to laser printers and are ideal for small offices and workgroups that require high-quality A3 color printing.

High-yield inks and high-capacity paper options make these printers a simple solution with minimal user intervention and therefore little downtime, increasing user productivity. Furthermore, the duplex function and lower energy consumption of these printers help save costs and resources.

Iryna Narytnyk, product manager at Epson Iberica, states: “ Our business remains 100% focused on the Heatless Piezo inkjet, which leverages our patented technology to offer more efficient and sustainable printing solutions to our partners and end customers. This decision marks the end of laser printer sales in Europe, two years ahead of our global target for 2026. ”

According to the market analysis group IDC, the Western European inkjet printing market for businesses is expected to grow at a rate of +7,6% between 2023 and 2028, compared to the laser printing market, which is expected to decline at a rate of -2,2%.
