LG Portugal is supporting Love Is Respect – Life's Good, a national project developed by Big Appetite 4 Music that uses music and artistic creation to address themes such as equality, respect, prevention of dating violence, and building healthy relationships between teenagers and young adults.
Aimed primarily at young people between the ages of 16 and 25, the initiative relies on a participatory model, in which the participants themselves are involved in the creation of songs, music videos and other content related to equality, inclusion, respect and non-violence.
The work is developed in collaboration with emerging artists and is supported by a team of psychologists, who ensure the pedagogical and methodological framework of the activities.
Six artists are participating in the project.
The core of Love Is Respect – Life's Good comprises six artists from different territories of mainland Portugal, the autonomous regions, and Angola: Blink Eyes, Calua, Rosemary, Hipots, João Moniz, and John Cantor Mor. The artists participate in a co-creation process with young people, helping to transform experiences, ideas, and reflections into lyrics and musical content.
The program begins with creative workshops dedicated to themes such as respect, equality, and healthy relationships. Subsequently, the content developed by the participants is worked on with artists and professionally produced, resulting in songs and music videos intended for public performance.
The project also includes the participation of local artists in the different regions where it is implemented.
Music video surpasses 165 views.
The launch of the initiative was accompanied by the release of the music video Love Is Respect – Life's Good , which brings together the six artists involved in the project. Filmed in different locations in Portugal and Angola, the video has already surpassed 165 views, according to the organization.
Music is used as a starting point to work with young people on topics such as gender equality, prevention of dating violence, and the importance of healthy relationships.
“More than just transmitting messages to young people, we want to create with them. Music allows us to start from their experiences, give them a voice, and transform what they feel and think into messages that can reach other young people ,” says Big Appetite 4 Music.
Participants will become part of a network of young ambassadors.
Each territorial implementation of the program involves young people, artists, and psychologists, from the initial workshops and lyric development to the production of songs and music videos. At the end of the process, participants join the Love Is Respect – Life's Good Young Ambassadors Network, designed to further disseminate messages related to respect, inclusion, equality, and non-violence in their respective communities.
A team of psychologists is involved in the project, participating in the training of the artists, validating the messages, and monitoring the activities.
The organization also intends to expand the initiative through partnerships with municipalities, universities, youth associations, civil society organizations, and other community entities.
A national platform is now available through which interested young people can register for future editions. No musical experience is required to participate.
The initiative is developed by Big Appetite 4 Music and has the support of LG Portugal, which frames the project within the strategy associated with the global positioning "Life's Good".
