Continente launches platform dedicated to plastics.

Continente launches a platform focused on plastics and their responsible use, available at http://plasticoresponsavel.continente.pt.

Distributing its content through national and international news, tips and suggestions, initiatives and proposals, Continente's Responsible Plastic platform not only explores the topic of plastics, but also puts forward a set of measures that civil society can implement and experiment with in their daily interactions with this material.

The launch comes within the scope of the Commitment to the Responsible Use of Plastics and follows a series of initiatives that have been put forward by Continente, which include, among others, the signing of the international pact New Plastics Economy Global Commitment, led by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme, the intention for 100% of the brand's more than four thousand packages to be reusable, recyclable or compostable by 2025, and the pilot project to offer alternatives to conventional plastic bags for fruits and vegetables.
