The Brasmar Group has acquired a majority stake in the French company Sedisal, which specializes in the distribution of chilled seafood products.
With a turnover of around 13 million euros, Sedisal's main areas of expertise are the distribution of chilled octopus and cod, with a strong presence in French-speaking markets.
A benchmark in modern distribution.
Over the past few years, Sedisal has become a leading partner in modern distribution in France. In 2015, it launched a range of ready-to-eat cephalopod products in partnership with Foncasal, a company that would also become part of the Brasmar Group in 2019. Then, in 2016, it launched its own brand, ITSALUZ Lumiére de Oceans.
The acquisition of a majority stake in the French company (securing a "call option" on the remaining 49%), founded in 1999 and located in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, will allow Brasmar to consolidate its operations in the French-speaking market, boosting sales in both the refrigerated and frozen product businesses.
