Humanwinety, a company that has been promoting the integration of individuals with physical or intellectual disabilities and other minorities in the wine and hospitality sectors for about four months, has just added Herdade do Rocim and Aveleda to its list of partners.
But the news from the project spearheaded by winemaker Bento Amaral and wine consultant Cláudio Martins doesn't end there. Humanwinety is organizing a charity auction and dinner, to be held in early 2023 in Lisbon, with part of the proceeds going to Cáritas.
Humanwinety
Empowering individuals who, for some reason or at some point in their lives, have become more vulnerable, experiencing difficulties in their education or when seeking employment, is the main mission of Humanwinety, which strives for inclusive recruitment in the job market and for employers and candidates to be aware of the various benefits that come with these types of hires.
“It is with great satisfaction that we see the Humanwinety project grow with the entry of two such important partners in the wine sector in Portugal. We feel that our work is, in fact, fundamental in bringing to light the issue of the inclusion of People with Disabilities (PWD) in society and in the labor market. There is undoubtedly a lack of awareness on the part of employers and the State of the human potential of PWDs,” adds Bento Amaral, Wine Inspiring Executive at Humanwinety.
Wine auction and charity dinner
The initiative will bring together a vast collection of bottles. Among the main highlights are three bottles of Maria Teresa from the years 2015, 2016 and 2017 and a three-liter bottle of Castro Superior 2018, from Quinta do Crasto, and two bottles of ABF 1888, from Vallado. The partner, Aveleda, will provide a three-liter bottle of Quinta Vale D. Maria Douro Tinto 2013 and a 1,5-liter bottle of Manoel Pedro Guedes Vinho Verde Branco 2020. Herdade do Rocim will have a Magnum of Rocim Grande Reserva Tinto 2019 in the auction.
The wine producer Soalheiro will also be auctioning off some of its most emblematic wines, such as a three-liter jeroboam of 2014 Soalheiro Clássico, a jeroboam of 2012 Soalheiro Reserva, a jeroboam of 2015 Soalheiro Granit (first harvest), and a Soalheiro 40th Anniversary Collection consisting of four 75-centiliter bottles.
These lots are joined by, among other offerings, two bottles of Madeira Boal 1868 from Matilde Henriques da Barbeito, a bottle of the 1900 vintage from Andresen, and a special box of three bottles of Legado with the 2017, 2014, and 2011 vintages from Sogrape, as well as a bottle of 1902 Moscatel de Setúbal José Maria da Fonseca Apoteca.
Tickets for the dinner have a cost per person, and part of the proceeds will be donated to Caritas.
