Portuguese Logistics Association prepares for its 23rd Congress.

APLOG, the Portuguese Logistics Association, will hold its 23rd Logistics Congress on November 9th and 10th at the PT Meeting Center – Parque das Nações, in Lisbon, under the theme "From Resilience to Recovery".

“ For two days, we will provide an open forum for logistics professionals, which usually has around 400 participants, representing the most diverse areas of activity, mostly top management such as directors, administrators, presidents and professionals with other management positions, reinforcing APLOG's position as a full member of the ELA – European Logistics Association ,” mentions Raúl Magalhães, president of the Association, recently re-elected.

The Congress includes plenary sessions of a strategic and conceptual nature, panel discussions, parallel sessions of a technical and practical nature, demonstrations of good logistics practices, as well as the promotion of networking and strategic relationship building.

Post-Covid change

The logistics sector, like so many other sectors, is undergoing a process of profound change and adaptation, mainly due to the current pandemic situation we have been experiencing.

Logistics management therefore requires, now more than ever, an ability to adapt, where the challenge for its managers demands a quick and, simultaneously, effective response. The challenges range from urban logistics to e-commerce, from automation to artificial intelligence, from infrastructure to specific supply chains such as healthcare. But also digitalization, decarbonization and sustainability.

“ After 2020 was a year of profound transformation, in 2021 we must continue to be resilient so that, together, we can recover and guarantee the competitiveness of logistics in the future ,” adds Raúl Magalhães.
