Alexandra Andrade has just been appointed Country Manager of Adecco Portugal. A graduate in Sociology with a specialization in Criminology, she holds an MBA from ISCTE and has been a coach since 2016.
Route
The new CEO has been involved in Human Resources for 20 years and, for the last six, has developed her career within the Adecco Group: in 2016, she joined Spring Professional in Portugal as director of the group's executive, middle management, and middle management recruitment division. In 2017, she moved to Spain, initially leading the Spring Professional brand and adding Badenoch + Clark, the group's Executive Search company, to her management in 2020, also managing the Training and Outsourcing areas specialized in IT, Health Care, and Lifescience. In this role, she was responsible for an area that is one of the three strategic pillars of the Adecco Group, aiming to promote a stronger connection with clients and candidates, best practices in talent management, and to be the benchmark for companies and candidates in the search, selection, and attraction of talent.
In 2021, Alexandra Andrade was appointed Senior Vice President of Professional Recruitment for Southern Europe, combining her responsibilities with those of the Adecco Group in Italy and Spain, where Adecco is a market leader.
Returning to Portugal as Country Manager of Adecco Portugal, and after leading group companies with teams of hundreds of people, she feels essentially grateful and challenged. “ After five years in Spain and, more recently, combining roles within the Adecco Group in Italy, I am honored to begin this new challenge leading Adecco Portugal. I deeply believe that cultural diversity, backgrounds, and differentiated experiences with international management practices will enrich the national team, contributing to achieving the highest performance. I am eager to put my skills and experience at the service of the Portuguese team and begin this new chapter of my story within the Adecco Group .”
Challenges
In the context of profound changes in the post-pandemic labor market, Alexandra Andrade embraces this new challenge in Portugal, with the clear understanding that “ talent recruitment strategies are changing worldwide, with marked differences in talent selection across different countries. Essentially, what affects how talent is recruited is the size of their economies, the level of technology, economic infrastructure, competitiveness, and lifestyle or cultural aspects. This requires innovative approaches to the market, with highly creative responses to the challenges that arise in a constantly changing world .”
In a global scenario of talent scarcity and exponential worker mobility, the Country Manager of Adecco Portugal believes that her international experience will allow the multinational to consolidate its work in Portugal. “ We intend to deepen our relationship with companies and candidates, understanding their uniqueness, and expand our competitive advantage with agility and rigor in recruitment and selection methods, tempered, as I mentioned, with a strong sense of innovation and creativity ,” states Alexandra Andrade.
