Expressions of the Atlantic terroir, produced only in special years, now have new vintages available on the market. The new AdegaMãe Terroir Tinto 2016 and AdegaMãe Terroir Branco 2017 have arrived and also culminate the rebranding process of the entire project, initiated at AdegaMãe in 2021.
“This is a very special launch for us, not only for what it represents in terms of product and maximum expression of our terroir, but also because it is the final step in an image renewal that has extended to all our brands and labels. We thus have a new label that further accentuates the exclusive character of these wines,” says Bernardo Alves, CEO of AdegaMãe.
Differentiation
AdegaMãe Terroir wines are born from the barrels that stand out most during aging in the cellar and that are distinguished above all by their originality. “More than seeking the expression of specific varieties or a particular blend, in these wines we value, above all, the expression of the terroir and the way in which the genuinely Atlantic profile that sets us apart is highlighted ,” says winemaker Diogo Lopes. “AdegaMãe Terroir Tinto is born in our best red wine estate, Quinta Dom Carlos, in Alenquer, where we have consistently recorded the best harvests. It is a wine with ripe and intense tannins, with very balanced oak, showing that great red wines are born in the Lisbon region . ”
The AdegaMãe Terroir Branco 2017 is defined as a blend of national grape varieties "from the best and most Atlantic white vineyard of the project, right in the heart of Quinta da Archeira, precisely where AdegaMãe is located. In fact, like the red, it ends up being another estate wine. Here, elegance, freshness and salinity stand out, all in a well-integrated ensemble in the barrel, which gives it volume, unctuousness and great complexity. A wine that honors its predecessors and seeks to inscribe itself among the great white wines of Portugal," concludes Diogo Lopes.
The AdegaMãe Terroir Tinto 2016 is only the third edition of this wine (2013 and 2015). The AdegaMãe Terroir Branco 2017 is the fourth edition (2013, 2014 and 2016).
