Xarmadis is the newest player in the pharmaceutical distribution and marketing market in Portugal. According to the company, it " positions itself as the ideal partner for companies that want to expand their business and focus on exporting ."
“ What sets us apart is our ability to ensure a quality service, adhering to best practices, and to provide know-how, experience and on-the-ground presence through local partners ,” according to Jorge Simões, CEO of Xarmadis.
The company aims to function as an operational hub for the pharmaceutical industry and laboratories seeking to enter the PALOP (Portuguese-speaking African Countries) market. Initially, the focus will be on the Angolan market, but by 2017, Xarmadis intends to expand its operations to the markets of Mozambique and Cape Verde.
Xarmadis was “ created at the end of 2015 by entrepreneurs with experience in the national and international market, and its offering is divided into five major business areas: dermocosmetics, childcare, pharmaceuticals, OTC, and oral hygiene. In the national market, the strategy involves operating in different and complementary markets: market niches where there is still no presence of major players or where that presence is minimal .”
The expectation is that, by the end of the year, Xarmadis will have a turnover of around half a million euros, mostly from the Angolan market. In 2020, this market should represent 80% of the turnover.
