Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway has purchased a $549,1 million stake in Kroger.
The investment in the largest supermarket chain in the United States was finalized in the fourth quarter of 2019 and has now been announced by the Securities and Exchange Commission. Specifically, Warren Buffett bought 18,9 million shares, in what is Berkshire Hathaway's first investment in a supermarket chain since the sale of its stake in Walmart in 2018.
In this way, the conglomerate becomes the seventh largest shareholder of Kroger.
