In 2025, Uber and Uber Eats continued to be part of the daily routine of Portuguese people, accompanying commutes, meals, and shopping, with usage patterns that reveal habits, trends, and some unexpected curiosities throughout the year.
In the mobility service, the most frequent trips were to work and home, but also to airports, restaurants and bars, shopping centers and tourist attractions, not forgetting hospitals and clinics. July stood out as the month with the highest number of trips made in Portugal, confirming the seasonality associated with holidays and increased mobility. Among the routes recorded throughout the year, one stood out for its distance: a trip between Faro Airport and Matosinhos, covering approximately 600 kilometers and crossing the country from south to north.
The quality of the experience continues to be a determining factor for Uber users. In 2025, drivers were particularly well-rated in three dimensions: the excellence of the service provided, the ability to maintain a good conversation during the trip, and the cleanliness and organization of the vehicle, reflecting the importance of detail and closeness in the day-to-day operation of the platform.
Uber Eats
In the Uber Eats universe, consumption habits remained somewhat constant, but also revealed surprising numbers. Hamburgers were the most ordered type of food throughout the year, while in the Retail area the most ordered product was bread, a true classic on Portuguese tables. The period between 19 pm and 21 pm concentrated the highest volume of orders, confirming dinner as the key moment of the day, and November 29th stood out as the busiest day of the year, driven by the Black Week campaign.
Among the most interesting data from 2025 is the profile of the most active Uber Eats user in Portugal. Throughout the year, this user placed over 1900 orders, equivalent to an average of six orders per day, with an average daily value of around 315 euros, illustrating the platform's versatility and its full integration into daily life. The highest-value order recorded in 2025 included the purchase of an iPhone 15 and a PlayStation 5, totaling around 1400 euros, reinforcing the growth and diversity of the retail offering.
In the retail sector, the most sought-after categories on Uber Eats were, in this order, groceries, convenience stores, and pharmacy items, reflecting an increasingly widespread use of the platform to meet immediate needs, far beyond just meals.
