Sociedade Central de Cervejas acquires Água Castello.

Sociedade Central de Cervejas e Bebidas, which includes Novadis, Sociedade de Água de Luso, and Hoppy House Brewing in its group, has just acquired 100% of the capital of Mineraqua Portugal from a group of private investors led by Capital Criativo. Mineraqua Portugal holds the concession and the Água Castello brand, a century-old brand of naturally carbonated mineral water and a benchmark in the national market.

The acquisition of the concession and the Água Castello brand strengthens Sociedade Central de Cervejas' presence in the natural mineral water market in Portugal, reinforcing a portfolio that already includes Água de Luso and Água do Cruzeiro.

This sparkling water brand sold approximately five million liters in 2018, representing a market share of about 7% by volume in the sparkling water market in Portugal, according to Nielsen data.

Castello Water has its bottling plant in Pisões, Moura, in the Alentejo region, an ecosystem that gives this naturally carbonated mineral water unique and distinctive characteristics.
