The year 2025 marked a turning point in technology consumption in Portugal, with circularity gaining scale and popularity. In this context, refurbed , a European marketplace for refurbished products, ended the year with record growth.
Furthermore, profitability was achieved midway through the fiscal year. There was also a strong alignment with the preferences of Portuguese consumers, who are increasingly oriented towards sustainable and accessible solutions. In April, the company surpassed two billion euros in accumulated gross merchandise value (GMV).
Smartphones, laptops, and gaming lead the preferences.
Among the most sought-after products in Portugal were the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, the Microsoft Surface Pro 7 (2019), the Lenovo ThinkPad T490, and the Apple Watch Ultra (2022). In the audio and gaming segment , models such as the Sony WH-1000XM5 and consoles such as the Microsoft Xbox Series X, the Nintendo Switch Lite, and the Sony PlayStation 5 stood out.
With over 55 items available – from electronics and home appliances to mobility and sporting goods – refurbed has reinforced its ambition to establish itself as a one-stop shop.
2026: Focus on combating electronic waste.
By 2026, the company intends to deepen its environmental commitment, particularly in the fight against electronic waste. To that end, and after supporting the collection and recycling of 15 tons of electronic waste in Mexico and India in 2025, it plans to expand the project to Ghana. The goal is to collect 20 tons.
“ Our impact strategy is deliberately flexible. We want to create the greatest possible impact where we feel we can make a difference ,” says Kilian Kaminski, co-founder of the company. According to the manager, refurbished products are an essential part of the solution to one of the biggest environmental challenges of today.
