Recheio Cash & Carry and J. Cabral Almeida Vinhos have established an agreement for the exclusive distribution of Camaleão brand Vinho Verde wines nationwide.
With this agreement, Camaleão wines will be distributed through the Horeca channel via the Recheio sales team, and will also be available in the 39 Recheio stores located on the mainland and in the archipelagos of Madeira and the Azores.
According to Recheio's general manager, Nuno Begonha, “ this partnership reinforces Recheio's positioning as a wine distributor and preferred partner of the Horeca sector. With the Camaleão brand, in addition to guaranteeing our focus on the quality and differentiation of our excellent wine cellar, we also ensure the expansion of our portfolio of represented brands to the Vinho Verde region. This is another important step in the work we have been developing to bring quality national producers closer to the restaurant and hotel industry .”
J. Cabral Almeida thus becomes the second national producer to be exclusively distributed by Recheio, which began distributing Flor do Côa wines from the Costa Boal producer in 2020.
João Cabral Almeida, winemaker and producer of Camaleão wines, emphasizes that " this partnership with Recheio will allow the brand to adapt to the new needs of the market, through increased logistical distribution capacity and greater proximity to the consumer ."
Chameleon
Camaleão wine was launched in 2010 and currently has three DOC Verde references and one Regional Minho reference. As the name suggests, the label of this wine changes color when it is at the appropriate temperature for consumption, a feature that makes thermometers and tactile tests of the bottle unnecessary.
Under the motto "Wines with a sense of place," the winemaking concept of J. Cabral Almeida Vinhos is based on demonstrating the potential of diverse grape varieties in different terroirs. To that end, the wines are produced using a philosophy of minimal winemaking intervention, to help reflect the authenticity of each grape variety and location.
