Real Companhia Velha has just had its sustainability practices recognized and, consequently, certified by Sustainable Winegrowing Portugal, within the scope of the National Reference Framework for Sustainability Certification in the Wine Sector, created by the Instituto da Vinha e do Vinho (IVV) and promoted by ViniPortugal.

With international recognition, this certification was the first to be awarded by APCER – the Portuguese Certification Association, an auditing body that conducted an evaluation in collaboration with an internal group created for this purpose.

Pedro Silva Reis, the company's president, communicated this news to his employees, which arrived precisely on the last working day before the holiday period, thanking the entire sustainability team for their commitment and effort, in a task force led by Catarina Lemos, the director responsible for production and quality.

This certification, at level A, the highest level of sustainability, demonstrates the company's commitment to preserving the environment and combating climate change. The promotion of sustainable viticulture, the commitment to energy transition and decarbonization, the defense of decent work, and compliance with fair trade standards are just some examples of the policies adopted that contributed to achieving this milestone.
