Pine trees in a harmonious blend of canned goods and wine.

Pine trees pairing canned goods and wine in a live streaming event.

Pinhais participated in an online session on pairing canned goods with wine. Pinhais' canned mackerel fillets in spicy olive oil were tasted by around 80 guests, including food journalists, sommeliers and influencers, accompanied by Kopke's new wine from the limited edition Winemaker's Collection, a Rosé Reserva Tinto Cão 2019 , presented for the first time at the event.

Patrícia Sousa, marketing director of Pinhais, states that “ for this pairing, we chose Mackerel Fillets in Spicy Olive Oil, a preserve at the beginning of its maturation stage with a slight spiciness that perfectly complements this exclusive rosé wine.” She adds that the main differentiating factor of Pinhais preserves lies in “artisanal production with great attention to detail, combined with the excellence of the raw materials. The recipes are centuries old, characterized by the freshness of the fish and the refined, absolutely unique flavors present in each can .”

Handcrafted production process

Pinhais' artisanal process for producing Mackerel Fillets in Spicy Olive Oil follows a unique and centuries-old ritual that lends authenticity to the preserves. Specifically, immersion in brine to balance the flavor, the cutting and manual preparation of all locally sourced ingredients, such as olive oil and bay leaf, among other spices used in the seasoning, and the selection of only the best mackerel from the Atlantic coast are just some of the steps in the process that culminates in canning, essential for preserving the fish.

Pinhais' delicacies are designed for true connoisseurs of traditional premium canned goods. Pinhais' canned sardines or mackerel in tomato or olive oil, with or without chili, promise to bring the taste of tradition and the sea to your table. The products are available in select stores and premium restaurants, and soon online.
