Pernod Ricard recorded sales of €8.407 million in the first nine months of its fiscal year, representing organic growth of 18%.
By region, revenues in the United States increased by 13%, while India maintained strong growth of 19% and China of 12%, after a weaker start to the year affected by Covid-19. In Europe, the company achieved " excellent growth ," with some slowdown in March, mainly due to the effects of the conflict in Ukraine.
Strategic international brands achieved 20% growth (22% in the third quarter), driven by Jameson, Martell, Chivas Regal, Absolut, Ballantine's and The Glenlivet. Meanwhile, strategic local brands increased by 14% (15% in the third quarter) and specialty brands grew by 28% (45% in the third quarter), with very dynamic performance across the portfolio, particularly the American whiskies Malfy, Monkey 47, Avion, Lillet, Redbreast and Del Maguey.
Expectation
“ Our third quarter was very strong and continued the overall performance we had in the first half of the year, with all our regions and key markets showing significant growth. The global environment remains volatile, with an increasingly challenging and inflationary context. We expect a softer fourth quarter, affected by Covid-19 disruptions in China, gradual normalization in the United States, and the conflict in Ukraine ,” says Alexandre Ricard, Chairman and CEO of Pernod Ricard.
