Linde introduces the Linde SpeedAssist driver assistance system.

Linde has just introduced the Linde SpeedAssist system, which helps operators and warehouse or logistics managers by detecting whether equipment is inside or outside the warehouse and adapting its speed accordingly.

The Linde SpeedAssist is equipped with weather-independent radar technology, gradual and adjustable response times, as well as adjustable sensor sensitivity, significantly improving safety within the warehouse.

“ Linde SpeedAssist ensures practical, easy and quick speed control and, unlike other solutions on the market, it is not based on weather or expensive infrared technology, but rather on radar sensors that cover a range of between 1 and 24 meters. The use of radar technology does not require further investment, since the radar sensor is located on the roof, and is simultaneously the transmitter and receiver of its own signal, which is reflected from the ceiling. This technology indicates to the equipment whether it is inside a building or outside, adjusting its speed accordingly ,” explains Linde in a statement.

The response time of the Linde SpeedAssist sensors is adjustable and can be configured in four different levels. This allows for easy adaptation to the respective site conditions. Thanks to individual parameterization, the system detects both small objects and superstructures such as pipes, overhanging ceilings, or treetops without immediately reducing the desired speed.

The Linde SpeedAssist system is a useful solution for adapting existing fleets. Furthermore, it can be integrated into new equipment upon request. Due to its low number of components and simple installation, this solution is also a viable safety option for rental equipment.

It basically consists of three elements: the sensor, a set of cables with a relay, and an installation kit that includes a fixing device. The company offers three sensor variants to ensure compliance with specific telecommunications guidelines in the European, US, Canadian, Brazilian, Chinese, Australian, and New Zealand markets.
