The Land division – which integrates the land transport and Contract segments (dedicated to specialized furniture transport), as well as operations in the Maghreb market – was the fastest growing last year, representing more than €10 million of global turnover and registering an 80% growth compared to 2014. The land transport segment was, in fact, one of KLOG's key focuses in 2015, with the opening of two new hubs in France and Germany aimed at supporting increased exports from national companies.
The Projects & Strategic Cargo division – a specialized full-load service for major accounts that integrates the rail segment – was the business area in 2015 that represented the highest value in the company's total revenue, with results in the region of 15 million euros. It should be noted that KLOG is the only national carrier to directly connect Portugal to Catalonia by rail. These operations already represent 15% of the company's global business, having registered a 20% increase in 2015 compared to 2014.
Air-sea transport reached a turnover of five million euros in 2015, representing a growth of 33% compared to the previous year. The solutions offered by KLOG in this segment allowed the company to be chosen by Irmafer to transport the world's largest tent for the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil. The operation involved the logistics and transport of 400 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent unit).
