KAFFA, in partnership with A Avó veio Trabalhar, recycles coffee sacks.

KAFFA, in partnership with A Avó veio Trabalhar, is starting a project to recycle and reuse burlap coffee sacks.

The partnership, whose first production run is already being finalized by A Avó Veio Trabalhar (Grandma Came to Work), aims to give a new life to the burlap sacks that transport green coffee to the KAFFA factory in Trajouce. “ On average, around five tons of coffee enter KAFFA daily, in 60-kilo sacks. The volume we use is enormous, and it makes no sense, nowadays, not to think about reuse alternatives ,” says Madalena Moniz Pereira, Business Manager of KAFFA. “ Once the idea was formed, the challenge was to make it a reality. It was then that we thought of incorporating into this recycling project another one that has always fascinated us for its strong social component, uniqueness, and innovation: A Avó Veio Trabalhar .”

The partnership is already fully operational and includes the development and production of six new products: four types of bags (of different dimensions) and two types of aprons. The products, offered by KAFFA in specific promotional campaigns, will also be available for sale in KAFFA's online store.

The first production, a special reference created to mark its presence with KAFFA at the World of Private Label, is now complete and was presented for the first time at this international event of the Private Label Manufacturers Association (PLMA), which took place on May 22nd and 23rd in Amsterdam.
