Jungheinrich AG of Hamburg was chosen to provide intralogistics and systems integration services for IKEA's new distribution center, currently under construction in Esipovo, a town 50 km from Moscow, Russia.
The solution developed by Jungheinrich includes a high-rise pallet racking warehouse with 15 aisles, in a silo with a total of 210 pallet spaces. Upon its completion, scheduled for the end of 2017, the IKEA distribution center, with an area of 26000 square meters, will be connected by transport technology to the production of the IKEA Industry subsidiary.
"Jungheinrich thus demonstrates once again its competence as a global supplier of integrated systems solutions, offering a wide range of products including forklifts, logistics systems, services and consulting," the company said in a statement.
