Fnac Darty estimates losses of 45 million euros due to the Yellow Vest protests.

In what it describes as " an unprecedented context of demonstrations ," Fnac Darty announced it had lost sales worth 45 million euros in France and Belgium due to the Yellow Vest movement.

The amount is calculated based on the store closures it was forced to make and the decrease in customer traffic.

According to the group, this impact on end-of-year sales is expected to weigh on the accounts and operating results for 2018, notwithstanding the fact that the reintegration process of the two brands is proceeding as planned and the group reaffirms its target of synergies worth €130 million achieved in the previous fiscal year.

Despite this setback in year-end sales, Fnac Darty also confirms its medium-term objectives, which aim for above-average growth in the various markets where it operates and a current operating margin between 4,5% and 5%.

The fourth quarter and full-year 2018 results will be published on February 20th.
