Carla Esteves, CEO of UniMark

Carla Esteves assumes executive directorship of UniMark.

UniMark has made changes to its top management, electing new governing bodies for the 2019/2022 term, and appointing Carla Esteves as its new CEO. This move aims to strengthen not only the company's activity but also its operational coordination.

In close collaboration with the cooperative's management, chaired by Carlos Pinho representing Marabuto Cash & Carry, and with the general management, which continues to be carried out by João Vieira Lopes, Carla Esteves sees her scope of action thus reinforced with the operational coordination of the wholesale and retail cooperative that, for more than two decades, has been establishing itself as one of the major drivers of independent commerce in Portugal.

Due to her work serving this organization, Carla Esteves was chosen by UniMark's management to oversee the day-to-day operations of this cooperative, which is committed to the strategic continuity of the work developed so far. “ It is with great enthusiasm that I take on another important challenge in my life. At a time when so much is being said about the potential of local commerce, UniMark has never doubted the effectiveness of this channel. This is a great professional and personal challenge that I will embrace with the same passion and enthusiasm with which I have served UniMark over the past few years, always aiming to maximize the best synergies and business opportunities for all those who interact with us daily, ” says Carla Esteves, executive director of UniMark.

Carlos Pinho assumes the presidency of the board.

The governing bodies for the 2019-2022 four-year period of the cooperative were also announced, with Carlos Pinho, representing Marabuto Cash & Carry, being elected as the new president of the UniMark board.

Joaquim Cunha, representing M. Cunha & CA, and Ricardo Malaquias, from Malaquias Distribuição Alimentar, are the two vice-presidents of the UniMark board.

The general assembly is chaired by Roberto Álvares, representing Amaral & Filhos, and António Nunes, from Soprei, chairs the supervisory board of UniMark.
