Auchan Cascais

Auchan renovates its Cascais store.

Auchan Retail Portugal inaugurated its new store in Cascais this Wednesday, May 11th, a project representing an investment of approximately 40 million euros. "Modern and forward-looking, the new space replaces the old store, the first hypermarket in the country, but promises to preserve the experience and memories of 49 years of history and continue to be a landmark in Cascais ," assures Auchan Retail Portugal.

The new Auchan store has an area of approximately seven thousand square meters, more spacious, organized and modern, and takes advantage of natural light from skylights on the main facade. In addition, it has a garden at one of the entrances, a rooftop with sea views, and a shopping arcade with several restaurants.

“Almost 50 years have passed, and much has changed. We were once Pão de Açúcar, then Jumbo, and today we are Auchan, with a new project. But something remains the same: the strength and dedication of our team and the quality of our products – the pillars of these 50 years. And we want to continue to be a benchmark for the inhabitants of Cascais. The opening of this new store is another step on the path we began several years ago, resulting in a unique space: seven thousand square meters of the best shopping experience we can offer. More than a physical change, this new store is a sign of the transformation we have been making and is today a space that reflects our commitment to Good, Healthy, and Local ,” emphasizes Pedro Cid, general manager of Auchan Retail Portugal.

Services

In line with the brand's positioning of making life easier for customers, the store has a cafeteria at the entrance with a diverse offering, such as natural juices, artisanal ice cream, salads and pizza slices, and also offers a Grab & Go service, which allows customers to quickly purchase healthy meals.

In the new space, you can find the usual fresh, healthy, and organic products, mostly local and national, a wine cellar area staffed by a specialized team, and the Flavors of the World market, with products from various countries. Another new feature is the bulk product sales area, a sustainable offering that is already one of the retailer's hallmarks.

Offer

Customers will also find a home and decoration area, featuring the Actuel private label, and a pet area entirely dedicated to animals. Regarding new services, the store will include an optician, thus expanding its health offerings, with an area dedicated to technological products, a same-day delivery service – provided orders are placed before 12 noon – and a Drive service allowing customers to collect their purchases in the store's parking lot.

“This project is based on three differentiating pillars: the customer experience, of ease and pleasure, focusing on health and sustainability, service and a close relationship with the resident; the professionalism and friendliness of our teams; a differentiating, relevant and attractive offer, responding to consumption trends and valuing the customer's time and needs. I highlight the strong commitment to fresh products, in-house production, organic products, and the national and local offerings,” Pedro Cid further emphasizes.
