Aldi Portugal is opening a new store in Valongo this Wednesday, December 15th, located on one of the city's main streets, next to the train station. With this opening, the food retailer has created approximately 20 new jobs and now has 103 stores nationwide.
As part of the new Aldi Valongo project, the group supported the construction of a roundabout to improve access to its new store. Therefore, and as a way to honor the city's identity with one of its main symbols, a trilobite sculpture, a Paleozoic creature that inhabited the municipality's territory during the Paleozoic Era hundreds of millions of years ago, was installed in the roundabout.
New store
With a sales area of approximately 930 square meters and 75 parking spaces, Aldi Valongo offers a simple and quick shopping experience, where in addition to fresh national products, meat and fresh fish, customers will be able to find different products – food or household goods – seasonal or related to themed weeks.
To mark another opening, the food retailer will offer a basket of Aldi products (limited quantities) to customers who make purchases of €30 or more at the Valongo store this Wednesday. In this way, Aldi aims to introduce some of its brands.
