Graham's Port presents a new look for its collection of Aged Tawnies, which includes The Tawny and Graham's 10, 20 and 30 Year Old Tawny. The new design introduces a new color palette for each of the wines, accompanied by lighter bottles and fully recyclable packaging.
The iconic Graham's Tawny bottle shape remains, but its weight has been reduced by 19,6%. According to the brand, this change alone has allowed Symington to reduce its global carbon footprint by 2%.
The tubular packaging in the collection will also now be produced from 100% cardboard, meaning it is fully recyclable. These changes are part of the Symington family's strategy to improve the sustainability levels of its wines and Ports.
New visual identity
The new color palette gives each wine its own visual identity, inspired by its unique flavor profile. The youngest of the four wines, The Tawny, appears in powder blue, a shade that evokes its youthful notes of dried figs and raisins. Meanwhile, Graham's 10 Year Old Tawny comes in a soft coral tone, associated with its notes of dried apricots and orange peel.
Graham's 20 Year Old Tawny has a warm butternut hue, inspired by notes of dried fruit, honey, and caramel. Graham's 30 Year Old Tawny, on the other hand, presents a soft lilac shade, associated with its fruitcake profile of nuts and spices.
For Charlotte Symington, Head of Marketing and a fifth-generation member of the family, “ the Tawny category with age indication continues to be one of the fastest growing within the Port wine universe, and we wanted to create a visual identity for each wine that reflected its individual personality .”
