Auchan launches bread with Posidonia salt.

The new house-made bread with Posidonia salt is now on sale in all Auchan stores. Available in multiple varieties, such as baguette, country-style, large-crust, and bakery bread, this is a healthier option for one of the Portuguese people's favorite food products.

Posidonia salt, produced in the salt pans of Formentera, comes from a seagrass of the same name and stands out for containing only 8% sodium, that is, five times less sodium than conventional salt. It is a 100% natural liquid salt, resulting from the combination of different marine minerals, and guarantees identical characteristics and a perfect salty taste.

 

Salt consumption

It is worth remembering that excessive salt consumption is one of the main risk factors for cardiovascular disease. The Portuguese consume more than 50% of the recommended daily salt intake, and the country has a high prevalence of hypertension and one of the highest stroke rates in the world.
